SO LONG to JANUARY, MORE COLD WEATHER FORECAST, BUT...

...still hoping and praying for the flowering of creative work...I tell my students to remember what no teacher EVER told me (they were all arrogant men)--all the small steps you take lead somewhere...

...just try to take those steps in the direction you want to go, where you would like to see yourself in the future.  This is life.  This is art.  There is no one going to knock on your door to tell you that you have won the big prize, and even if they did, all that would ensue would be in-fighting with those closest to you--nary a step towards anything resembling your heart's desire.  Suddenly you find yourself in the world of someone else's concern, (or no one's--in the world where there is literally no one who is getting what they chose to create...this is the modern dilemma.)  It seems there is almost no hope of fine art.  But this is not the fault of the artist, especially young artists, who have no way to comprehend their decisions have repercussions.  This is exactly why the TEACHERS of these young creative souls must have an ethical high-ground from which they operate.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY FAMOUS AND NOT SO FAMOUS MALE TEACHERS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES AND SEND ME MONEY OR AT LEAST AN APOLOGY--EVEN IF FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE.  I pray for those lost souls...I tell my friend (female of course) well, we won...WE ARE STILL ALIVE!  But for the rest of you EXs...I accept both cash and checks.

Well that's out of my system.  I hope I can finish Dry Moon soon (I AM NOT NAMING NAMES...ETHICAL--NOT MORAL--high ground.)
